Architecture & workflows

How the system is built, how modules share one dataset, the access model and the notification engine — and the core processes from order to cash, purchase to stock, production, hire to pay, projects, letters and approvals.

Architecture and relationship diagrams

Before the details, this chapter uses a few diagrams to show how ARG ERP is built, how the modules connect, how each person’s access is determined and how notifications reach people.

Overall architecture
Overall architecture · Users need only a browser; all traffic passes through one encrypted gateway and scheduled jobs run in a separate process
Module relationship map
Module relationship map · All modules work on one shared dataset; each customer, item or employee is defined only once
Access model
Access model · Each person’s access is built from their role, their position and manual exceptions; when the position changes, access changes automatically
Notification and automation engine
Notification and automation engine · Business events and the scheduler deliver notifications to the right person through the right channel
The modules are connected through shared data: sales sells the same item the warehouse keeps and production makes, and HR defines the same employee who takes part in projects, meetings and tasks. The automatic flows between modules are shown as workflow diagrams in the next chapter.

Core process workflows

The diagrams in this chapter show the path of each core process through the system, from start to finish and by the department that carries out each step. Each column is a step; the diagrams follow the Persian reading direction, so steps run from right to left.

Order to cash
Order to cash · From lead to payment without re-entering data; the sales voucher is posted automatically once the chart of accounts is set up
Procure to stock
Procure to stock · Purchasing starts from real stock shortages and each supplier’s scorecard is built from real orders
Production and quality
Production and quality · Materials really leave stock, the product returns at full cost, and a quality-control rejection opens a non-conformance automatically
Hire to pay
Hire to pay · The position is the starting point; the employee’s access comes from the position and pay from actual attendance
Project cycle
Project cycle · Twelve standard phases with gated progress; when a phase is completed the next one is activated automatically
Letter flow
Letter flow · Every letter has a number, referrals, a deadline and a full trail, and late action is followed up automatically
Approval chain
Approval chain · Each step records the decision-maker, time and comment; a rejection at any step closes the case and the requester is notified of the outcome

Status cycle of the main documents

Every document in the system has a defined status and moves only along its defined path. Side statuses such as cancelled or on hold are available from several points along the way.
